The Eastern Plains, or Los Llanos as they are known, rely on a unique culture that has remained unaltered for centuries.  This area encompasses about a 3rd of the land territory of Colombia but has fewer than a million inhabitants.

Cowboys and cattle farmers come together to enjoy their beloved music. They dance the region’s traditional joropo while instruments such as the harp, maracas and tiny cuartro guitar soothe their worries away.

The Eastern region of Colombia, is a vast plain crossed by many rivers and lakes that turn it into a spectacular mix of landscapes, flora and fauna. It is characterized by its sprawling ranches called “hatos” and beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
